The Committee has developed the IWC with the following objectives:

1. As an internationally recognised Certificate of employability skills   
   
   
2. To provide existing companies with a certificate level program that validates existing employees level of employability skills attainment
   
   
3. To provide individuals with proof of their employability skills when seeking employment locally and internationally
   
   
4. To provide college and university students with the option to acquire vital employability skills whilst studying their degree to make them work ready upon graduation

The aim of this collaboration was to design, develop and deliver a comprehensive program that meets the needs of business globally. The collaboration has achieved these outcomes through the IWC Program.

The International Work Certificate (IWC) initiative was developed as a result of a  number of key industry-based research reports emanating from government, higher education and industry groups.

The IWC Committee is a collaboration made up of leading industry professionals from business, recruitment, higher education and academia. The IWC Committee used the comprehensive research data from international government agencies and consulting groups, which is publicly available, to ensure consistency and uniformity in its application of the internationally recognised ‘Employability Skills’.
